The 295 acresTiger beach Scenic Park, lying southeast of the city, with a coastal line of 4.6 kilometers, is a large and recreational center in Dalian. It is located in the south tip of Dalian. Flower beds and wayside pavilions dot the thickly wooded park.

 Because a distant view of hill rock in the west presents an image of a tiger lying by the sea.There is a touching folklore about Tiger Beach. It is a love story about a hunter and a beautiful girl. They falled into love at first sight. A tiger demon lusted after the charming of the girl, and possessed her. The hunter oathed to take his love back. After a fierce battle, the hunter killed the tiger, but he lost his fair lady forever. Now in Tiger Beach Park, people still could find tiger cave,sharply-cut rocks

It is called Tiger Beach Park. The park comprised the Tiger Park, Singing Birds Woods, Tiger Square and an Aquarium. The Tiger Square is one of the famous sites in the park, covering 15700 square meters, highlighting the largest granite sculpture in China. Six vivid sculpture tigers make the irregular square the most outstanding among dozens of squares in Dalian. To the southwest of Laohutan Bay lies Singing Birds Woods, which covers 4,500 sqm with a gigantic bird cage. It is also the natural habitat of thousands of birds. The Park has special performances like the Peacocks Flying Southeast, which depicts an ancient Chinese tragic love story, the Mermaid Show and the Sea Lion Performance.
      Sea waves with a roar against the jagged rocks beneath the beach which emerge and submerge now and form the sea. The majesty of this park contrasts remarkably with the gentleness of Xinghai Park on the other side of the bay. A winding path leads from the beach to the pavilion on the hill, from where one clearly sees the boundless expanse of the blue sea and the sailing boats. Such a picturesque landscape!
