Situated in the front of south door of the government buildings, People’s Square with 98 thousand square is the most representative sight in dalian. Once known as Stalin Square, due to a large monument in memory of the Northeast liberation by the Soviet army, it was changed to its present name in 1994. It consists of a massive European-style fountain、 white marble cloister and four lawns. spending a leisurely summer day watching locals fly kites and maneuvering through morning exercises is really a happy thing to everyone.

People's Square Water Sight is composed of the music fountain in the main square, the large-scale layers of water, the program-controlled fountain on east and west side and the stable dry fountains around the whole square with a total area of 40,000 square meters. It is the largest water sight project in China and was finished in August 2000. Jiang Zeming, the general secretary of the Central Party Committee of China, and his wife visited the fountain and took a picture in front of it.
